I NEED HELP WITH DISCRETE MATH!?

I'm taking Discrete Math this year, and we're working on the unit of sealed bids. This is just dividing thing amongst a number of people, so that it's fair. If you know how sealed bid tables (or you may call them charts), what do you do if two people accidently bid the same amount? Like how would you decide who gets it, or is there something you do? I'm so confused right now. If you know this stuff, please please please help me out!
