Was/is Brett Hull underrated?

How come Brett Hull is/was never compared to the likes of players like Gretzky and Lemieux? He was the closest person to catching Gretzky's record for most goals in a season with 86, and he also had two 70+ goal seasons, and two more 50+ goal season. Is maybe overlooked because he didn't have the finesse that Lemieux and Gretzky did? He was always more of a power-forward.
