I took my Renault Laguna to a garage as the cam belt had snapped. It was in the garage for six weeks, finishing with a total bill of 1,122.89. Eight days later I was driving the car and it was making a loud squealing noise, the next day I was driving the children to school and I heard a tapping noise under the bonnet, I stopped the car and the noise stopped. Later that day I was out shopping, while driving out of the car park the steering suddenly went ridged; I could not move the car. I called the AA and they told me that the power steering was not working. I took it back to the same garage expecting him to do the work for nothing, as on my invoice he mentioned that the "fan belt tensioner req spring weak", I mentioned this to him and he said "I didn't think it would go that fast!" I feel that he could have put me in a very expensive and dangerous position. Do you think he should do the work for nothing?
