How is prayer logical?

I used to pray all the time, and was convinced it was logical. I used to think that anybody who questioned it, or said it was illogical was just unenlightened and didn't understand. Then I realized all while long, I was the one in the dark, I was the one confined to a mentality, prayer doesn't work at all. I'm interested in what theists think of this. I've had people admittedly say that there is no logic to prayer, but that doesn't make any sense.
